The other day I was making up my shopping list for a recipe that called for the use of a bouquet garni. Let’s see, what do I already have on hand?
4 fresh sage leaves.
Check
2 3-inch sprigs of fresh rosemary.
Check
2 sprigs fresh flat leaf parsley.

There was no need for me to buy anything. I had already grown my own bouquet garni. And so can you! The common ingredients of bouquet garni are already growing in your herb garden: bay, tarragon, thyme, rosemary, chervil, basil, parsley, burnet, and savory. Read my article on bouquet garni to see how to grow and make your own using either fresh or dried herbs.
